Glee Guitar Lessons

Many beginning students start their guitar lesson journey with Glee. First we teach you how to build strength in your hands through learning chords and melodies. We provide a guitar lesson book to help you progress in your music lessons. We also like to add a song that you like that will motivate you to practice. Last but not least, our guitar teachers want to help students develop good practicing habits/techniques. The more you practice good habits at home the faster you can learn and progress. Frequently Asked Questions

What grades do you teach?

We have a good mix of elementary, middle school, and high school students. And last but not least, we love to teach adults. Adults take guitar lessons for very specific reasons and are usually great about finding a regular practice schedule.

What grade is ideal for starting?

Our favorite grade to start teaching guitar is 3rd to 4th grade. It is difficult for young students to know how to practice, but we have found that young students can be successful if they have a highly involved parent that sets a regular guitar practice time. And if you are an adult, most of our adults guitar students range from beginning to intermediate, so you’ll fit right in.

Tell me about metal and nylon strings

The guitar traditionally has 6 strings that can be made of metal or nylon depending on the style of guitar. Classical or flamenco guitars will have nylon strings. Acoustic guitars and electric guitars will have metal strings. Metal strings can be more difficult for beginners because they require building up more hand strength in the beginning but as long as you practice the hand strength will increase and soon the student will be able to play the instrument without problems.

What about recitals?

We believe in performance practice. We always find it a little crazy that some guitar teachers don’t have recitals. If we teach you to play the guitar, but no one will ever hear you, then what is the point? We have 4-6 recitals a year and it is an important part of our guitar program.

How much does a guitar cost?

Guitar prices range from $100-$4,000.  We sell some beautiful beginning guitars that are full and three-quarter size at the Glee that range from $85-$200. Just email us and we’ll give you the details.
